MIRAMAR BEACH, Fla. – James Bould finished with an even 210 to tie for 18th place as the Nicholls State University men’s golf team opened its season in the Sandestin Collegiate Classic at the Raven Golf Club.
Bould shot a 3-under 67 in the opening round before following with a 71 and 72 on Tuesday and Wednesday, respectively. He totaled nine birdies in the three days including five in Monday’s first round as he notched his second career Top 20 finish.
Bould’s effort helped Nicholls to it best day as the Colonels shot a 1-under 279 in the opening round before the squad followed with a 291 and 292 for the final two days. Nicholls was tied for sixth after Monday and finished 12th overall with an 862.
Jack Moro and Kyle Traub were the next top finishers for the Colonels, totaling a 217. Moro also posted a round-under-par with a 69 on Monday and Traub’s best round was a 71 on Tuesday.
Ongsa Booncharn carded a 220 in his debut while Elliot Aucoin shot a 221 as an individual. Ethan Marx rounded out the team with a 224.
West Florida’s Hector Arriaga took medalist honors with a 200 and the Argos tied with Mercer for the team title as both squads shot a 2-under 838.
