Dallas Wings star player Paige Bueckers set another WNBA record as she helped her team to a stellar 87-82 win against the Phoenix Mercury.

Bueckers scored 26 points, 5 assists and 3 steals against the Mercury, while also shooting 10-19 from the field.

Her brilliant performance has helped the Wings maintain sixth position in the WNBA standings.

In what was the last regular-season home game for the Wings at the Venue Park Center, Bueckers also ensured that she walked out with another WNBA record to her name.

Bueckers sets scoring record

The All-Star guard set the WNBA scoring record for the most points scored by a player after their first two seasons.

She now has 1,515 points and has surpassed Seimone Augustus’ previous mark of 1,513 with two more games left to play for the Wings.

Bueckers has been splendid for the team this season, averaging 20.4 points per game and 5.8 assists per game.

This being her sophomore season, Bueckers has also been efficient, shooting 39.1% from three-point range and 50.8% from the field.

She broke the record set by Augustus, who did it while playing for the Minnesota Lynx.

Bueckers was the fourth-fastest WNBA player to reach 1,000 points, and one of the reasons she got to the record was her consistency.

The Wings guard took 75 games to get to the record, while Augustus who previously held the record took only 68 games.

Bueckers will be hoping to add more points to her name in the final two regular-season games.

The Wings are in the middle of a six-game winning run. If they go on to win their last two matchups, they could end up as the fourth seed in the WNBA, provided the Atlanta Dream and Indiana Fever lose their games.
