With the offseason winding down, Sexton recently shared the court with Reaves and had plenty of praise for the Lakers star’s work ethic and competitiveness.

“Each and every day when he’s in the gym, he’s ready to work,” Sexton said in the Lakers’ latest social media video workout post. “No complaints out of him.

“He’s one of the leaders on the team and he comes in with an attitude of pushing each other, but also allowing players to push him. So it’s fun to be around him and his competitive nature.”

Austin Reaves defines hard work in the NBA

Austin Reaves stands as one of the hardest-working players in the league, who made it to the NBA despite the odds.

In 2021, Reaves entered the NBA as a lanky, undrafted prospect from Oklahoma. Since then, he developed season after season and became a franchise star in his own right with the Los Angeles Lakers.

The 28-year-old seized a breakout campaign last NBA season, where he averaged a career-best 23.3 points with 5.5 assists and 4.7 rebounds.

His standout season earned him a payday and a long-term spot as Luka Doncic’s co-star in LA, as he inked a four-year, $180 million contract extension with the Lakers.

Collin Sexton excited to play with Austin Reaves

After seeing what Austin Reaves can do in their team workouts, Collin Sexton is eager to finally take the court alongside the Lakers star.

Sexton agreed to a two-year, $19 million contract with the Lakers this offseason, setting himself up for a major opportunity to thrive under the brilliance of Reaves and Luka Doncic as an explosive guard.

“He impacts winning, impacts the game in so many different ways. So I definitely look forward to playing with him just being out there on the court with him,” Sexton said of Reaves.

“He’s a score a passer and being able to play with someone that’s very unselfish, but also can score the ball as well.”
