Jalen Hurts’ dramatic comeback against the Tennessee Titans placed the Philadelphia Eagles quarterback in exclusive NFL company. Hurts became the fifth quarterback in league history to win at least six consecutive road openers at any point in his career, according to Elias Sports Bureau. Philadelphia’s 24-20 victory over Tennessee extended Hurts’ streak to six seasons, beginning in 2021 when he became the Eagles’ full-time starter.
The four quarterbacks ahead of Hurts are Dan Fouts, Roger Staubach, Fran Tarkenton and Bart Starr.
Fouts holds the NFL record after winning nine consecutive road openers between 1976 and 1985. Staubach won eight from 1970 through 1979, while Tarkenton and Starr each won seven.
Hurts is the only quarterback on the list whose streak remains active. The Eagles needed their quarterback to rescue that streak Sunday in Nashville. Philadelphia trailed 20-17 after Tennessee kicked a field goal with 1:56 remaining. Without a timeout, Hurts led a nine-play, 65-yard drive in 1:47. He completed 6 of 8 passes for 61 yards, including a 19-yard completion to DeVonta Smith that moved Philadelphia to the Titans’ 3-yard line.
Hurts then found Darius Cooper for the winning touchdown with nine seconds remaining.

The quarterback finished 26-of-37 passing for 264 yards, two touchdowns and two interceptions. He completed passes to nine different receivers as Philadelphia improved to 2-0. Hurts’ performance was not flawless, but his composure in the final two minutes preserved another Eagles road-opening victory.
One more win would tie Hurts with Tarkenton and Starr. Three more would match Fouts’ NFL record.
