Cunningham scored 0 points in the Fever’s loss to the Mystics, missing two shot attempts in seven minutes of action with a plus/minus of -11.
One of her two shot attempts was an open corner three-pointer that hit the side of the backboard before she was glued to the bench for the final stretch of the game.

The airball coming in the same game where Cunningham scored 0 points gave angry Fever fans and Cunningham haters the perfect opportunity to rightfully point out her shortcomings in this loss.
“Damn. She’s amazing!” said one fan sarcastically while sharing her box score with zeroes across every major stat.
“Just nasty,” said another fan sharing the box score.
“This might be her last year playing professional basketball,” said a fan.
“No bias. Sophie Cunningham should not be in the league next year. She genuinely sucks,” said another fan with the same feelings.

“Yaps on podcasts every week but can’t shoot a basketball to save her life,” said a fan, implying her recent fame has come at the same time as a dip in performance.

This is arguably Cunningham’s worst performance of the season and came at a terrible time, as this loss might have killed Indiana’s chances of being a top-four seed for the playoffs.

Cunningham is averaging 8.0 points on 42.7% from three this season, but has averaged just 5.8 points on 40.4% from three in 16 games since July 21, when her comments against trans athletes in women’s sports went viral as part of an ESPN profile.
It does indicate a correlation with her rise in fame, but the continued poor performances have also caused her minutes to fall well below her season average of 22.2 minutes in the last four games.
If the Fever want to compete in the postseason, they need Cunningham to find her confidence as one of the most efficient shooters in the WNBA again.
If that doesn’t happen, it’s hard to see any other choice for Coach White than to cut her minutes in the postseason.
