BATON ROUGE, La. (WAFB) – A criminal investigation has been launched into an alleged sexual assault involving an LSU football player and a student that happened on LSU’s campus last year, the East Baton Rouge District Attorney’s Office confirmed Tuesday.
The LSU student spoke out about what she says happened to her in a video posted on TikTok a week ago. She said the alleged assault happened around 4:30 a.m. on Oct. 18, 2025.
The name of the football player accused in the case has not been released.

“We understand that the matter was previously addressed through a campus-level investigatory and review process and that the LSU Police Department and the Baton Rouge Police Department have information concerning the matter,” DA Hillar Moore said.
Moore said the matter was first brought to the District Attorney’s Office for review Tuesday. He said he has requested all reports, interviews, evidence, and other relevant records from LSU, the LSU Police Department, the Baton Rouge Police Department, the East Baton Rouge Parish Coroner’s Office, and any other agency possessing information related to the matter.
LSU confirmed the university is aware of a formal police report being filed alleging a sexual assault last year involving a student-athlete.
According to the university, the incident, which occurred in October of 2025, was first reported to police by the student-athlete himself, but no criminal complaint was filed. At the same time, LSU says it followed its Title IX policy and processes to a conclusion.
“LSU and its current administration take very seriously any allegations of misconduct involving students on our campuses. Safety and security must be our number one priority,” said President Rousse. “Let me assure everyone that this incident has been handled professionally and that LSU has strictly followed our policies, procedures and best practices, including the Title IX process, to guide our actions to date. Now that a criminal complaint has been filed, our role is to continue cooperating with our law enforcement partners as they work through their investigatory process.”
