Daniel Suárez and Julia Piquet announced the birth of their first child, a baby boy named Otto

Daniel Suárez is officially a dad!

On Tuesday, Sept. 22, the NASCAR Cup Series driver and Xfinity Series champion, 34, and his wife Julia Piquet shared in a post on Instagram that they’ve welcomed their first baby together. In a series of black-and-white photos, Suárez and Piquet introduced the world to their baby son.

“The biggest blessing of our lives, our baby boy,” the couple wrote in their joint caption. “Otto Suárez Piquet 🩵.”

In the sweet photos, Suárez and Piquet could be seen lying in a bed with their son. They also shared a solo shot of Suárez and their baby, as well as a picture of the little one’s feet.

In 2024, Suárez and Piquet tied the knot in the bride’s hometown of Brasilia, Brazil. The couple, who first met in 2012 before getting engaged in November 2022, told PEOPLE getting married in Brazil was a “no-brainer.”

“Being able to get married in my hometown of Brasilia, where I lived for four years during high school, is very special,” Piquet shared with PEOPLE at the time, adding that the capital city is where her father and much of her family live. “It’s a place that I love. So, it really was a no brainer.”

The two shared at the time that they were hoping their next era as a couple involved settling into married life, including going on a proper honeymoon at the end of the year to Japan.

“We’re really looking forward to going there,” Piquet said, adding that their next chapter as a couple “involves settling into our new home, getting back on the NASCAR schedule, hopefully fighting for a championship and just continuing to do what we’re doing.”

The bride added, “We’ll stay strong as a couple, grow together and move forward in life.”
