For the 15th straight season, Spectrum SportsNet will be the Los Angeles Lakers‘ official broadcast home. It will televise 67 of the Lakers’ 82 regular-season games, as well as all five of their preseason games. The Lakers’ first preseason game this year will take place on Monday, Oct. 5, versus the Sacramento Kings.
Bill Macdonald will be the team’s television play-by-play announcer for the 17th straight season. Color Commentator Stu Lantz, who missed time last season for medical reasons, will return for the 2026-27 campaign and join Macdonald for home games. Danny Green, who won the NBA championship with the Lakers during the 2019-20 season, will be Spectrum SportsNet’s color commentator for Lakers road games.
During telecasts, Mike Trudell will continue to serve as a sideline reporter, and he will share those duties with newcomer Roqui Theus, the daughter of former All-Star guard Reggie Theus.
In the studio, Chris McGee will host coverage along with Hall of Famer and 1988 NBA Finals MVP James Worthy. On various nights, Green, Robert Horry, Derek Fisher and newcomer Sasha Vujavic will join McGee, as will Mike Bresnahan and Allie Clifton.
Fans can also catch “Backstage: Lakers” for its 15th season. The first episode of its new season will air on Oct. 23, after the Lakers play their second game of the regular season versus the Los Angeles Clippers.
