This is one World Cup booking that doesn’t have a Hollywood ending.
The Beverly Wilshire – the famed Beverly Hills hotel where Julia Roberts and Richard Gere shacked up in “Pretty Woman” – is suing a luxury sports travel company for $636,000 after it allegedly canceled a massive booking just five months before the soccer tournament kicked off.
The landmark Four Seasons hotel, perched at Wilshire Boulevard and Rodeo Drive in the heart of the 90210, claims Jet Set Sports booked 300 rooms for six nights during the World Cup’s Los Angeles run – then walked away from the deal, with the hotel unable to rebook the rooms.

Jet Set made the reservation in August 2025, agreeing to pay $594,000 before taxes and fees for the rooms, according to the lawsuit.
The bulk booking worked out at about $330 per room per night before taxes and fees – which is a discount from the roughly $1,000-a-night rate ordinary guests would have paid on Wednesday for a room at the Beverly Wilshire.
Jet Set paid an initial $50,000 deposit when it signed the agreement but allegedly failed to make a second $50,000 payment due Dec. 31, 2025, the papers say.
Then, on Jan. 23 – about five months before the tournament – Jet Set told the Beverly Wilshire it needed to “walk away” from the deal and that the hotel was free to “release the rooms,” according to the suit.

The hotel claims it was unable to “re-sell any of the rooms” before the World Cup ended and is now demanding $636,000.
That figure comprises the original $594,000 room bill plus $92,000 in taxes, minus Jet Set’s $50,000 deposit, according to the lawsuit.
The suit claims the contract made Jet Set responsible for the cost of any rooms the hotel was unable to resell.
“Jet Set canceled and caused the loss of revenue,” the suit reads.
The Beverly Wilshire, which opened in 1928 and famously served as the setting for the 1990 romantic comedy “Pretty Woman,” is one of Beverly Hills’ best-known luxury hotels.
The hotel has hosted members of the British royal family and presidents from Ronald Reagan to Barack Obama; as well as Hollywood icons such as Warren Beatty and Elvis Presley.

Its lavish reputation extends to the hotel’s Blvd restaurant and bar, where guests can splash out $150 on a lobster-laden seafood platter, $310 for 30 grams of Oscietra caviar, or $40 for an Lamborghini Espresso Martini.
Jet Set Sports says it has provided luxury hospitality experiences at major sporting events since 1984.
“Jet Set Sports has repeatedly demonstrated its ability to deliver the highest quality sport hospitality experiences rivaled by no other,” the company states on its website.
The New Jersey-based company is also gauging interest in hospitality packages for the 2028 Olympic Games in Los Angeles.
