Jaxson Dart was ready to be a patient — not stay patient.
Dart underwent surgery Friday to repair the damage to the MCL, PCL and meniscus in his left knee, The Post first reported.
He was in New York’s Hospital for Special Surgery only four days after he was sprawled on the turf in Los Angeles.
Dart’s injury carries a typical 4-6 month recovery period, and head coach John Harbaugh hasn’t ruled Dart out for the playoffs if the Giants qualify.
“I was excited that they were going to get to it right away,” Harbaugh said. “That was something that could be done quickly, so that was good.”

Some ligament tears do not allow for early surgery because the swelling hasn’t subsided. Malik Nabers waited a month last season before undergoing surgery on his torn ACL and torn meniscus.
But Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes was in surgery the day after tearing his ACL and LCL last December. It allowed Mahomes to bypass the typical prehab waiting period.

Giants offensive coordinator Matt Nagy coached Mahomes last year in Kansas City and mentioned Thursday that Dart has a similar mindset about returning as strong as ever.
Dart sought second opinions after preliminary hopes of a sprained MCL took a turn for the worse Tuesday.

Mahomes looks like his vintage MVP self to start 2026 for the 2-0 Chiefs, throwing for 566 yards while completing 63.5 percent of his passes.
“I went through it last year with the quarterback I was with, and you got to see how he attacked that from the very next day, and that’s what Jaxson’s going to do,” Nagy said after Thursday’s practice. “He kind of mentioned he’s ready to go right now. He’s kidding. He wants to be out there.
“But it’s just who he is. It’s a part of his journey. This will make him stronger, and we’ve just got to be there for him, and we’ve got to understand that what he did up until this point has been good.
“So now, when he does get back, whenever that is, it’s going to be a beautiful thing.”
