The Minnesota Timberwolves have signed former Lakers forward Drew Timme ahead of the new NBA season. Additionally, the team added KJ Martin, giving both players an opportunity to compete for a roster spot in training camp.

In one of those moves, the Minnesota Timberwolves have signed former Los Angeles Lakers power forward Drew Timme to a deal, according to Michael Scotto of HoopsHype.
Timme will compete for a spot in training camp after playing 27 games for the Lakers last season, averaging 3.4 points and 1.2 rebounds.
He performed much better for their G League affiliate, the South Bay Lakers, where he accumulated averages of 23.7 points, 8.5 rebounds, 4.9 assists and 1.0 block per 13 games.
Timme had a prolific career at Gonzaga before going undrafted in the 2023 NBA Draft and playing for multiple G League teams.

The Timberwolves have also signed KJ Martin to deal, that gives him the opportunity to fight for a spot in training camp, per Scotto.
Martin was drafted 52nd overall in the 2020 NBA Draft by the Sacramento Kings. He was shortly traded to the Houston Rockets, where he spent his first three seasons.
After that the forward jumped around the Los Angeles Clippers, Philadelphia 76ers and Utah Jazz, before ultimately signing with the Ningbo Rockets in China for the 2025-26 season.
Now, Martin will look to make his NBA comeback, where he has averaged 8.6 points, 4.0 rebounds and 1.2 assists over his career.
