MUNCIE, Ind. – The IU Indianapolis men’s golf team carded rounds of 288 and 290 on Saturday (Sept. 26) and is tied for ninth of 16 teams competing at this weekend’s Earl Yestingsmeier Invitational at Delaware Country Club.
Keaton Parmley led the way in round one with a 5-under 65, making six birdies against just one bogey in the morning 18. Senior Brady Schier paced the Jaguars at 1-over 71 in the second round, buoyed by an ace on the 177-yard, No. 16.
After scorching the course at this event last season, senior Titus Boswell shot 2-over 72 in both rounds on Saturday while Schier shot 5-over 75 in the morning. Sophomore Jack Scudder capped the scorers with a 6-over 76 in round one while Greg Miller led the individual entries with a 3-over 73.
Behind Schier and Boswell, Scudder shot 3-over 73 in round two and freshman Tommy Klinker shot 4-over 74. Parmley followed up his 65 with a second round 76, leaving him at 1-over 141 for the day, tied for 14th among 96 players.
Freshman Nathan Springer shot 5-over 75 in the afternoon after carding 76 in the morning.
Boswell ended day one tied atop the field with 27 pars.
Butler leads the field at 555 while host Ball State is second at 557. Ball State’s Luke Johnston is atop the leaderboard at 5-under 135 heading into Sunday’s finale. The final round on Sunday is slated to begin at 9:00 a.m.
