Hot Start for Men’s Golf After Two Rounds at the Bryan Bros Collegiate – Ole Miss Athletics

WEST COLUMBIA, S.C – The Ole Miss men’s golf team is tied for first following a spectacular 36-hole showing at the Bryan Bros Collegiate. Play was suspended due to darkness for several teams still in competition. The Rebels carded a 13-under-par total, shooting 7-under (277) in the first round and 6-under (278) in the second round.
 
The Rebels, led by Collins Trolio, put together a spectacular showing on the course. Trolio posted the team’s highest individual finish, sitting tied for third after carding a 2-under 69 in the first round and a 4-under 67 in the second. With 10 birdies on the day, the West Point, Mississippi, native made his presence known, entering the third round just one stroke off the lead at 6-under overall.
 
Eduardo Matarazzo also delivered a standout performance for Ole Miss, opening the day with a solid 1-under 70 before following it up with a 3-under 69 in the second round. Matarazzo finished the day tied for seventh at 4-under overall, putting himself right in the mix heading into the final round.
 
Daniel Tolf climbed the leaderboard throughout the day, finishing tied for 12th at 2-under par heading into the final round. He opened with a 2-under 69 in the first round and then posted an even-par 71 in the second.
 
Cooper Claycomb put together a solid showing for the Rebels, opening with a 2-under 69 before carding a 1-over 72 in the second round. He finished the day tied for 19th at 1-under par. Tomas Restrepo closed out the Rebels’ lineup at 8-over overall, posting a 6-over 77 in the first round and a 2-over 73 in the second.
 
Competing as an individual, Finn Meister finished the day tied for 45th at 3-over overall. Meister opened with a 1-under 70 in the first round before carding a 4-over 75 in the second.
 
Play will resume at 7 a.m. CT with the final round set to begin with round three tee times beginning at 8 a.m. CT.
