Charles Barkley joined Inside the NBA in 2000, and after 26 entertaining years, the Hall of Fame superstar is set to leave the show.
Barkley had an excellent basketball career, becoming one of the most popular players in the sport during his 16-year stint in the NBA.
After joining Inside the NBA, Barkley quickly became one of the most popular sports analysts on television, with his insightful analysis and natural charisma making him wildly entertaining to watch.

Charles Barkley confirms he will be ‘stepping back’ from public life following Inside the NBA exit
Charles Barkley confirmed to reporters that he would not be returning to Inside the NBA following the end of the 2026-27 NBA season.
Furthermore, the former Phoenix Suns star revealed that he would be recusing himself from public appearances following his retirement from the show.
“I’m looking forward to this last year. TV has been great to me. I will take a step back from public life. I’ll always come to Auburn, though. I want to make that perfectly clear,” Barkley told NBC Alabama.
“I’m stepping back from public life. It’s been a great run, a great journey. I thank everybody for their support after all these years.
“But I’ll be 64 years old, and Ernie asked me to stay for a couple more years. Last year was one; this year is two.
“I feel really good. This is going to be more like a celebration. I’ve had the greatest life a person could have.”
At his age, and after what will be 27 long years on television, Barkley wants to retire from his time as a media personality and enjoy the rest of his days with his family, away from the public eye.
While fans might be disappointed that Sir Charles won’t be on their screens after 2027, few can blame him for making the decision that he has.
Barkley has made over $100 million in just his broadcast career, along with being one of the best-paid players in the NBA during his active career.
Now, after what will be a combined 43 years in the public eye, over half his life, Barkley has earned the right to live a quiet and peaceful life away from the cameras.
