Battle-tested Lakeridge girls soccer is ready to roll

The Pacers have walked through fire.
The Lakeridge girls soccer team has tested itself against the best in 2026, and though the Pacers have gotten singed a time or two, they believe that the competition has absolutely made them better.
With Three Rivers League play scheduled to kick off on Thursday, Oct. 1 — the Pacers host Tualatin at 7 p.m. in their opener — Lakeridge believes that it’s ready to battle the best.
What the players say
“Our expectations for this year are to go as far as we can,” said Lakeridge junior forward Lucy Tragesser, the team’s leading scorer with eight goals. “We want to win. That’s what we’ve been working for.”
“We want to go all the way. We want it all,” said Pacer senior midfielder and team captain Kading Harvey. “We are dreaming big this season.”
“I think the key is just dialing in the new formation that we’ve put into play,” said Lakeridge senior forward Juliet Lamb. “[After that], it’s just finding that trust in each other when people are in new positions. I think it’ll be really good for us.”
What their coach says
“We are sitting in a good place right now. We took on a really difficult preseason … to prepare us … for league play and playoffs,” said Lakeridge coach Adrian Nixt, who led her team to the 6A quarterfinals a year ago. “The TRL title is up for grabs every year, [and] it always comes down to what team wants it the most. … This team has talent. We are young, but they’ve got some fight in them.”
Marching through the preseason
The Pacers’ nonleague schedule has been nothing short of brutal.
Lakeridge’s schedule has included four teams ranked in the top five of the Class 6A and 5A coaches polls, and the Pacers have held their own.
They opened with a tie against La Salle — the No. 4 team in 5A action — and faced three 6A powers in No. 2 Lincoln, No. 3 Central Catholic and No. 5 Sunset.
While Lakeridge (4-3-1 overall) came up short in those three 6A marquee contests, the Pacers lost twice by just one goal and believe they’ll be ready to compete with anyone by year’s end.
In addition to Tragesser, Harvey and Lamb, the Pacers also return TRL all-stars in junior midfielder Ali Post, sophomore defender Harper Ohr and sophomore defender Charlotte Lindsey.
Besides that group, additional varsity returners include senior goalkeeper Meredith Razey, senior forward/midfielder Lilo Baird-Gonzalez, senior forward/midfielder Hailey Gonzalez and sophomore defender Gabby Bachman. Sophomore forward/midfielder Sienna Frank adds punch to the offense with five goals so far.
Ready for the TRL
“We’ve had a pretty hard preseason, but it’s been really good for us,” Lamb said. “I think it’s built a lot of skill for everyone and I’m really excited.”
“The preseason is just building our momentum and we’re going to see how far we can go,” Harvey said.
“That’s why we wanted such a hard preseason schedule, so that when we get to league, we’re going to be so prepared and ready and we’re just going to win it all,” Tragesser added.
