PITTSBURG – The nationally ranked fourth Pittsburg State University women’s soccer team will host a pair of MIAA matches this weekend to begin October.
Pitt State will begin action for the weekend on Friday (Oct. 2) against Emporia State, kickoff is set for 2:00 p.m. (CT). To end the weekend, PSU will host Rogers State Sunday (Oct. 4), with kickoff from the Gorilla Soccer Pitch set for 1:00 p.m.
Among Division II ranks so far this season, the Gorillas are the only team to not allow a goal while also ranking third for win-loss-tied percentage (.950, 9-0-1), fourth for goal differential (+24), sixth for total assists (26). ninth for assists per game (2.60) and corner kicks per game (7.70), 16th for total points (74, 24 G – 26 A), 19th for goals scored (24), 21st for points per game (7.40) and 27th for scoring offense (2.40).
Leading the Gorillas with four goals (three game winners) is Ryann Caruth, Danae Hobson (3 G, 3 A) is tied with Caruth atop the team standings for points with nine. Hobson is also the team leader for shots (26) and shots on goal (15). Avianna Gonzalez (2 G, 3 A), Mia Hunt (2 G, 3 A) and Carrie Cunningham (2 G, 2 A) along with Hobson have contributed multiple goals and assists so far this season. Livi Jones (2 G, 1 A), Sarah Peyton Webb (5 A), Sammie Edwards (1 G, 2 A), Makenna Herrick (2 G), Abby Hoffman (1 G, 1 A), Piper Hughes (1 G, 1 A), Shayla Hunt (1 G, 1 A), Macy Malik (1 G), Leah Pugliese (1 G), Kaiao Zoller (1 G), Ella Cazzavillan (1 A), Dylann Ehegartner (1 A) and Rose Harden (1 A) are other members of the team to contribute either a goal or assist this season. Jocelyn Kramar in 800:13 minutes has recorded 23 saves and six shutouts while being part of four combined shutouts with Sabrina Schilt.
All-time against Emporia State, the Gorillas are 1-0-1 with a goalless draw in Pittsburg (Oct. 10, 2025) and a 1-0 win on the road (Oct. 11, 2024) thanks to a McKenna Robinson 53rd minute game winning goal to give the Gorillas their first MIAA win in program history.
Against Rogers State, Pittsburg State is 1-0-1 with a 3-0 win in Pittsburg (Oct. 3, 2025) and a 1-1 draw in Claremore (Oct. 4, 2024).
Emporia State University
Enters the week with a 5-2-2 overall record, being 2-0-1 in MIAA play. This season on the road the Hornets are 0-1-2 with a 1-1 result against Drury (Aug. 27) and 0-0 draw against Northeastern State (Sept. 27) highlights.
Ella Favot leads the team with five goals and five assists for 15 points with a team-high 15 shots on goal coming from 25 shots. Megan Kephart is the other member of the team to score five times this season and leads the team with 36 shots with 14 being shots on goal. Avery Zimmerman (3), Ava Huston (2) and Amy Paver (2) are the other members of the team to have scored multiple times this season. Sammy Quiroz (2) and Aubrey Seltman (2) are the other members of the team to contribute more than one assist so far this season. Andrea Guzman in 464:30 minutes in goal has allowed three goals for a 0.58 GAA with 28 saves and two shutouts for a 4-0-1 record. Terra Rybuck in 345:30 minutes between the sticks has allowed nine goals for a 2.34 GAA with 15 saves and a 1-2-1 record.
Rogers State University
Will begin the weekend with a 4-2-2 overall record, going 2-1-0 in the MIAA. On the road this season the Hillcats are 2-2-1.
Calais Butts the MIAA Goalkeeper of the Year in 2025, in 529:02 minutes this season has allowed seven goals for a 1.19 GAA with 42 saves and two shutouts while owning a 4-2-1 record. Bella Holland is the leading goalscorer with six goals from 22 shots and 14 shots on goal. Khari Carreno is the other member of the team to score more than once so far this season with four goals. Sophia Brandes is the team leader with two assists with four other members of the team contributing an assist each.
