MACON, GA. – Troy kick-started the Mercer Tournament with two rounds of doubles matches.

In Flight A, Gabriel Garay and Thiago Drozdowski started things off by winning the E-R16 doubles match 7-5 against Middle Georgia State’s Vicente Faria and Nick Dufner but fell 6-3 to Mercer’s Pablo Paternostro and Shingo Masuda in the E-Quarterfinals.

For Flight B, Henrique de Brito and Louis Boilevin defeated Georgia College & State U.’s Finn Oneill and Mickey Pancich 7-6 during the E-R16 doubles. The pair carried that momentum to the E-Quarterfinals and came out successful against Georgia State’s Pietro Augusto Bonivento and Giovanni Ronzio, leaving the court 6-3.

De Brito and Boilevin will compete against Georgia Southern’s Amar Huseinovic and Albert Widell in the E-Semifinals on Friday for day two of the tournament.

To end the day in Flight C, Ryusei Miyazato and Lenny Galley had a Bye doubles match in the E-R16 round, allowing them straight to the E-Quarterfinals. The duo went on to defeat Abraham Baldwin’s Stefan Sandu and Mahe Charrueau 6-1 and will compete in the E-Semifinals against Abraham Baldwin’s Milan Volbert and Nathan Bauer for day two.

Day two of the tournament will include two rounds of singles and one round of doubles.
