MINOT, N.D. — The Minot State Women’s Soccer team hits the road this weekend for a pair of NSIC contests, traveling to Wayne State College on Friday, October 2, at 3 p.m. in Wayne, Nebraska, before facing Augustana University on Sunday, October 4, at 1 p.m. in Sioux Falls, South Dakota.
Minot State enters the weekend with a 2-6-1 overall record and 1-4-1 mark in NSIC play after playing to a 1-1 draw with Bemidji State University on Friday before falling 2-0 to University of Minnesota Duluth on Sunday.
The Beavers opened the weekend against Bemidji State, with Minot State taking a 1-0 lead in the 82nd minute when Iliana Rivera scored her second goal of the season, assisted by Anahyssa Nash. Bemidji State answered in the 85th minute to even the score at 1-1, with neither team finding the net again. Rebecca Sargent recorded three saves, while the Beavers registered nine shots on goal.
Minot State then faced Minnesota Duluth on Sunday, falling 2-0 at Herb Parker Stadium. The Bulldogs held a 2-0 advantage at halftime, while the Beavers kept Minnesota Duluth off the scoreboard in the second half. Sargent made four saves in goal, and Minot State recorded five shots, including two on goal.
The Beavers now take their show on the road for two NSIC contests, facing Wayne State on Friday afternoon before traveling to Sioux Falls to close the weekend against Augustana on Sunday.
