DUBLIN, Ohio — Charlotte Men’s Golf played to a 3-3 tie with Michigan on Tuesday (Oct. 6) in the final round of the Barbara Nicklaus Cup at famed Muirfield Village Golf Club.
 
Charlotte notched 8.5 points on day one of the competition after picking up wins over both Ohio State and Clemson for a total of 11.5 points. Combined with the women’s 6.0 points in the event, Charlotte finished tied for second place with Clemson in the final standings, four points behind champion Ohio State.
 
Chase Cline finished off a perfect week with a 1UP victory to go 3-0 in the event. He lost the first hole of the day but leveled it up on the next and never trailed again. Seb Cave and Frazer Jones both had big wins over the Wolverines for their second victories of the competition. Cave capped off an undefeated week with a 5&4 victory, only losing one hole, while Jones erased an early one-hole defici to cruise to a 6&4 win.
 
Alex Bock and Lake Williams both fell by scores of 2&1 and Daniel Boone, Jr. was defeated 5&3.
 
Cline contributed three of Charlotte’s points in the event with his three wins, while Cave added 2.5 thanks to a win over Ohio State and a tie with Clemson on Monday. Jones and Bock both added a pair of points from two wins over the week while Williams and Boone both won one match.
 
Charlotte is back in action on Friday, Oct. 16, at the Golf Club of Georgia Collegiate, hosted by Georgia Tech. The event runs from Friday to Sunday, with one round each day at the Golf Club of Georgia’s Lakeside Course.
