Kelsey Mitchell will be one of the most prized free agents this WNBA offseason, and many teams should be vying for her services.

At her end-of-year presser with the Indiana Fever, Mitchell said: “I got to be selfish about where my career is going.”

Mitchell spent nine seasons with the Fever. The four-time All-Star averaged 18.4 points and 2.9 assists per game during her Indiana career. She enjoyed a breakout 2026 season, averaging 24.7 points per game, and is a strong MVP candidate.

Here are three teams that would be a great fit for a dynamic scorer.

The Los Angeles Sparks are retooling and need a star player to build around. Nneka Ogwumike is retiring, and Mitchell would be the perfect player to start a new era for the Sparks.

Mitchell ranked second in the league in scoring while shooting 45 percent from 3-point range in 2026. She would be a great fit with Cameron Brink and a pick-and-roll threat against any squad.

Rae Burrell would be getting so many fast-break buckets all day if she were playing alongside Mitchell.

The Sparks will have money to spend, and any team in the WNBA will have to pay up for the Ohio State product.

Marina Mabrey needs another scorer on her team, and Mitchell would be the perfect candidate. The expansion Toronto Tempo were riddled with injuries all season but showed potential.

She would be a great mentor for Kiki Rice and would make the Tempo a great league pass team as well.

The Golden State Valkyries are in the midst of the WNBA playoffs but should consider adding the dynamic lefty this offseason. She would add another scoring threat and make a deadly combo with Gabby Williams.

Mitchell said at the end of the year that she wants to be in a more positive environment and be treated well by a fanbase.

Golden State has one of the best home-court advantages in Ballhalla and seems to be a very fun team to play for.

Kelsey Mitchell discusses all the noise surrounding the Indiana Fever this season:

They might have to do some work around the salary cap. Joe Lacob, the owner of the Valkyries, is never afraid to spend a ton of cash to build a winner.
