BETHLEHEM, Pa. – Despite threatening early in the attacking third, the American University men’s soccer team couldn’t convert its chances and fell to Lehigh 2-0. The Eagles suffer their first loss in Patriot League play, dropping to 2-1-1.

How it Happened

AU was able to penetrate Lehigh’s defense early, generating three corner kicks and three shots in the opening five minutes.
On American’s second corner, Ian Webb-Johnson sent a header off the left post.
Rohan Chivikula followed with a shot at the near post that forced a quick-reaction stop from Anton Kinnunen.
The Mountain Hawks responded on the attacking end and opened up the scoring in the 10th minute, when Shea Coughlin found Thomas Robertson behind AU’s back line for a simple finish to the low right corner of the net.
Lehigh added its next goal just over four minutes into the second half, with Coughlin on the receiving end this time, finishing off a feed from Trey Sheeler.
AU took three more shots the rest of the way, but failed to put any on target.
