Today’s NFL practice squad moves include the Jaguars importing a long snapper to London and the Chiefs reuniting with a familiar wide receiver. Here are the latest updates.
Carolina Panthers
Houston Texans
Jacksonville Jaguars
Kansas City Chiefs
Las Vegas Raiders
Philadelphia Eagles
The Jaguars lost long snapper Ross Matiscik to a shoulder injury during Sunday morning’s win over the Eagles, their first of two straight games in London. Defensive tackle DaVon Hamilton admirably filled in for eight kicks – four punts, three field goals, and one extra point – but (understandably) delivered some inaccurate snaps. Punter/holder Logan Cooke struggled to get the ball down for the extra point, but he managed to line up Cam Little’s game-winning 57-yard field goal as time expired.
Bobenmoyer has already arrived in London, per NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport, who adds that Matiscik is not expected to land on injured reserve. That indicates that Bobenmoyer will be elevated from the practice squad for at least a game or two while Jacksonville’s longtime long snapper recovers.
Watson, 30, is reuniting with the Chiefs after a three-year stint in Kansas City from 2022 to 2024. The 6-foot-2 wideout was a trusted run blocker in Andy Reid’s offense and a consistent vertical threat given his size and speed, but he was more often used as a decoy than a featured target. His familiarity with Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs’ offense could see him quickly thrust into a game day role after injuries to Rashee Rice and Tyquan Thornton.
