Major events like the 2026 FIFA World Cup don’t leave room for guesswork. In this panel discussion and after-action review, you’ll hear from agencies that supported hazmat monitoring and response in World Cup host cities. They will share what they learned preparing for stadiums, fan zones and high-traffic areas from before the first spectators arrived until after the arenas emptied.
This webinar will focus on what worked, what changed during live operations and what they would improve next time. We’ll explore practical lessons around pre-event size-ups, baseline gas and gamma readings, monitor placement, mobile team deployment, incident command and multi-agency coordination. Attendees will leave with practical considerations they can apply when planning for their next major event.
By joining this webinar, attendees will learn how these hazmat teams:
Performed pre-event size-ups and established baseline gas and gamma readings for stadiums, fan zones and other high-traffic areas.
Developed monitoring plans that account for equipment placement, mobile team deployment and changing conditions during live operations.
Conducted after-action reviews to identify gaps in live operations and strengthen planning for the next major event.
WHO SHOULD ATTEND:
Fire chiefs / Assistant chiefs
Hazmat team leaders / Hazmat technicians
Battalion chiefs and incident commanders
Fire and rescue training officers
Special operations chief
Special events and emergency management coordinators
Safety officers
* Please note the Q and A portion of the webinar will only be available for live event attendees.
