The end of the Los Angeles Dodgers’ season also marked the end of Miguel Rojas’ 13-year MLB career.

Rojas told reporters after the Dodgers’ Game 4 loss to the Milwaukee Brewers in the NLCS on Thursday night that he was retiring.

“This is it, guys. This is it,” Rojas said. “I’m gonna move on and go to the next step of my life, in my career, and the baseball world. Today was the last time that I wore that uniform as a player and my cleats. It’s really hard to take them off right now.”

Rojas originally entered pro ball in 2006 when he was signed as an international free agent by the Cincinnati Reds. He never reached the big leagues with the club, became a free agent after 2012 and signed with the Dodgers.

After spending another year in the minors, Rojas finally received a call up in June 2014 and he appeared in 85 games with Los Angeles.

The Dodgers traded Rojas to the Miami Marlins in December 2014. He would spend eight seasons with the Marlins, appearing in 870 games during that period from 2015 to ’22.

Rojas was traded back to the Dodgers in January 2023 where he would spend the final four years of his career. He had the best year of his career in 2024 with a .283/.337/.410 slash line to help Los Angeles win the first of its two straight World Series titles.

The 2025 World Series featured the peak moment of Rojas’ career. He hit the game-tying home run in the top of the ninth inning in Game 7 against the Toronto Blue Jays. Los Angeles went on to win 5-4 in 11 innings.

Rojas had 57 home runs in his entire career up to that point. It was only the second game in the series against the Blue Jays that he started after coming off the bench in the first five games.

The 37-year-old Rojas will end his career with a .260/.313/.363 slash line in 1,401 games played and two World Series championships.
