Khamzat Chimaev added another UFC champion to his resume with a dominant win over Robbie Lawler at RAF 14 on Friday.
The former UFC middleweight champion wasted no time racking up the points in rapid fire fashion and Lawler simply didn’t have an answer in the ultra-quick match.
Chimaev wasted no time on a quick takedown to open the match before a restart on the fete. A moment later, Chimaev pulled Lawler to the mat again and he latched onto the gut wrenc with the turn and he was already up 8-0.
Chimaev then attacked again and got another two-point score to go up 10-0 to end the match.
The latest victory for Chimaev ended with 20 seconds remaining in the first period.
Afterwards, Chimaev turned his attention to RAF in Abu Dhabi where he faces Colby Covington in a crossover championship main event.
“Happy to finally get his guy and break his neck,” Chimaev said about the former UFC interim welterweight champion.
Chimaev also addressed a possible melee involving his teammate Arman Tsarukyan and Dillon Danis after a near riot broke out between them on Thursday at the press conference.
“I’m ready for anything,” Chimaev said. “If Arman [Tsarukyan] wants to kill him, we kill him.”
Outside of that possible brawl, Chimaev now prepares for his next match in three weeks when he competes for the RAF crossover championship against Covington in the main event in Abu Dhabi.
