A lot of NFL fans are starting to feel as if they cannot turn the television on without seeing Pat McAfee on their screens anymore.

The former Indianapolis Colts punter has shot to stardom on ESPN through his own show, which has earned him spots on a number of the network’s other programmes. However, the 39-year-old has now tried his hand at the world of acting.

McAfee has featured in the Netflix production of The Mosquito Bowl, which has the former NFL punter playing an army drill instructor. Despite being one of the best punters to ever play the game, it is clear that his acting skills have not gone down all that well with a lot of NFL fans.

NFL fans criticise Pat McAfee over his recent movie appearance

It has been a difficult period for McAfee following a controversial appearance at the University of Utah last weekend. The visit has sparked a lot of backlash and the onslaught has continued following the release of the movie he features in.

‘What a joke, I won’t be watching that then,’ added another.

The 39-year-old has certainly become a regular on the screens of the nation. McAfee hosts his own show during the week and also features on College GameDay and now Monday Night Football.

‘I’m begging, for the love of all things holy, make Pat McAfee go away,’ replied another frustrated NFL fan.

‘We have Pat McAfee fatigue,’ another said.

There are a number of fans who also feel as if Jason Kelce is at risk of also being pushed too much by the network, but his appearances do not come anywhere near as frequently as McAfee.

‘Good way of telling me not to watch a movie,’ added another fan.

While another said: ‘Pat couldn’t handle being called corny and you expect us to believe he can be a Marine?’
