STOCKTON, Calif. – The No. 12 Pilots continue to run through the West Coast Conference, routing the Pacific Tigers 4-1 on Halloween. The Pilots improve to 10-3-2 on the year and 7-0-0 in WCC play.

With the win, the Pilots have now won nine straight matches, the most in a row since 1988 when the they went undefeated through their first 21 matches. Their seven wins in WCC play are a program record, and they have never gone 7-0-0 in WCC play. Their 29 goals in WCC play are a program record and now officially the most ever by a WCC team in conference play.

Highfield now has 31 points on the year with 10 goals and 11 assists, becoming the first Pilot since Brandon Cambridge to score at least 30 points in a season and the first Pilot since Jim Clarke in 1993 to post at least 10 goals and 10 assists in a season. Ajagbe, meanwhile is the first Pilot to 12 goals since Jacob Babalai in 2023 and the first Pilot ever to score 10 goals in WCC play. It’s the third most goals ever by any WCC player in conference play and the most since Patrick Wallen in 2010.

Diego Rosas also had an assist on the day, putting him at 38 for his career. Last week, Rosas broke the program record for assists in a career, and with 38 assists he now is one of just six players since 1998 to have that many assists for their career.

How it Happened

Highfield opened the scoring in the sixth minute, chesting a corner kick from Diego Rosas into the back of the net. Pacific scored on a penalty kick in the 18th minute, but Portland didn’t let the tie stay, with Highfield finding Ajagbe for the Canadian’s 12th goal in the 29th minute. Portland led 2-1 at the half.

Portland put it away about a third of the way through the second half. Emojong and Highfield had the give-and-go exchange in the 58th minute inside the box, with Emojong scoring the goal. Highfield closed the scoring in the 63rd minute, corralling a poor clearance from Pacific and sending it home himself. The Pilots won 4-1.
