Barrow’s Dan Mooney says he and his team-mates were left disappointed at the manner of how their winning run was brought to an end.
A 94th-minute goal from attacking midfielder Mooney looked to have stretched that run to seven matches only to then concede an equaliser to Eastleigh in the 11th minute of added time.
The loss of two points saw them drop down a place to ninth, two below the play-off spots and one behind Cumbrian rivals Carlisle United.
“It’s a point, it keeps the unbeaten run going but we are disappointed,” Mooney told BBC Radio Cumbria.
“When you’re in a winning position, it’s tough to take when you end up with a point.
“The run’s been brilliant and we want to keep that winning feeling because it’s brilliant to have that in the changing room going into games.”
Mooney, 27, followed manager Adam Murray from Kidderminster Harriers to Barrow when he joined the club as he makes his way back to fitness.
His goal against the Spitfires was his second in seven substitute appearances, after suffering an anterior cruciate ligament injury for the Harriers last November.
And he is trying to balance being careful with the desire to get fully involved again.
“I’m just happy and ready to go when the gaffer calls me and ready to make an impact,” he said.
“I’m building my minutes up, it’s a long season but I do get a bit twitchy and want to get on and affect the game.”
