ITA CONFERENCE MASTERS MEN’S DOUBLES
Draw/Schedule
ITA SECTIONALS WOMEN’S SINGLES AND DOUBLES
Draw/Schedule
Aleksandar Mitric and Simeon Stankovic are in Rome, trying to get to Athens, without ever leaving the United States. How so? This Rome and this Athens are both in Georgia. The Princeton doubles team is currently in Rome, hoping to make a return trip to Athens in two weeks.
As for the Princeton women’s team, they’ve only had to travel as far as Philadelphia this weekend, with the hopes of going further south later this month as well.
Mitric and Stankovic, the Ivy League doubles champion, are competing together in doubles at the ITA Conference Masters tournament at Shorter University in Rome. Should they at least reach the final of the 32-team draw, they would clinch a spot in the NCAA tournament, to be held at the University of Georgia the week before Thanksgiving. The tournament begins Thursday, and the first match for Mitric and Stankovic will be at 2:30 against the Northern Arizona pair of Jakub Jedrzejczak and Vincent Vohl.
The Princeton women are at Penn for the ITA Sectionals, where a top six finish in singles and a top three finish in doubles are the bar for earning an NCAA spot. Bella Chhiv, Pearlie Zhang, Maddie Jessup and Alice Ferlito all compete Thursday at 12:30 in singles, while Jessup and Ferlito, Chhiv and Zhang and Maren Urata and Tsehay Driscoll all play doubles Thursday morning.
Princeton has already qualified Tsehay Driscoll in women’s singles and Landon Ardila in men’s singles for the NCAA tournament.
