SANTA CLARA — The 49ers continued to see several of their players return to the field following the bye week, but there also was a new absence.

Christian Kirk, who was limited on Wednesday with a knee injury, did not participate in Thursday’s practice. The veteran wideout was on the field for 20 offensive snaps in San Francisco’s Week 7 loss to the Atlanta Falcons after being sidelined with a calf injury at the start of training camp.

Deebo Samuel and Mike Evans were both absent for a second practice ahead of the team’s Week 9 clash with the Las Vegas Raiders.

Demarcus Robinson, however, participated in his second straight practice after missing substantial time with a high ankle sprain. The expectation is that Robinson will be ready for Sunday’s game.

Nick Bosa was seen on the field for a second consecutive session after missing five games with a calf injury in the leg, and did not suffer the ACL injury in Week 3 of the 2025 season. The All-Pro warmed up alongside DeForest Buckner, who likely will play a sizable role on Sunday.

Upton Stout, who has been wearing a blue non-contact jersey, was seen in his standard No. 20 jersey, indicating that he could be healthy enough to play on Sunday.

After being sidelined on Wednesday with a hamstring injury, Christian McCaffrey returned to the field, along with Trent Williams, who had a veteran rest day.

Standout special teams players Garret Wallow and Luke Gifford both were back on the field for a second consecutive practice. The two linebackers’ absences were felt in the 49ers’ Week 7 loss to the Falcons, when return coverage was clearly challenged.
