@ChrisReed_NFL: Actually looking forward to checking out this film. Have to say the most maddening thing about Derek Carr is how immobile he is for such an athletic guy. He’s more than capable of making plays with his legs, it’s just not in his nature, I guess. #Raidernation

Indeed. Even the chargers schemed some roll outs to take some pressure off.
He’s fearful, with all due respect.
He’s afraid. We all know this. It’s why he won’t ever be anything more than an above average QB.
It’s not a huge knock but it’s well known. He will fold against really good defenses….its the hope we don’t play them….
Dude did not MOVE. hopefully that changes quick
It’s almost the exact opposite of running qbs who don’t wait for plays to develop and run. Carr waits too long and doesn’t run when he should
His eyes are downfield, just waiting and waiting for that money play! I hope JMD forces him to play conservative more and be patient with the big plays.
We all know exactly who Carr is, strengths and weaknesses. He’s obviously not the mobile type like Josh Allen or Justin Herbert and he’s not the pocket navigator like Rodgers or Brady.
He’s above average at moving around the pocket and can escape for big plays from time to time. But get enough pressure on him consistently, and he’s a sitting duck back there. I’m a huge Carr fan, but if you can’t accept these realities about Derek, then at this point, you’re just delusional.
Never has been, never will. Stop yelling at a broken clock for telling the wrong time.
The recipe to Carr’s sustained success is a good offensive line. Give him that and he’ll pick you apart. You’d think everybody would realize this by now…
Lack of pocket awareness, he can’t feel the pocket collapsing around him until someone touches him, then panic ensues. And then he drops the ball.
He hesistates too much to run. He doesn’t have to be Lamar in the open field just move ahead and get down once you got what you need
It’s very frustrating because we’ve seen him use his legs successfully. I truly think he’d just rather force a throw than run for an easy first. He constantly gives his receivers a chance to make a play, many times to his determent.
Who?
His hesitancy lost the game for us today.
He needs a clean pocket to feel comfortable or hes prone to make mistakes. The offensive line has to get better because Carr wont change.
Part of carr’s pocket and scrambling issues are his fumbling tendency’s it’s hard for him to extend plays in traffic cause he coughs it up so easily he should go back to the glove
It seemed like Gruden got him to improve a bit in this aspect. Last year or 2 he was getting out of the pocket and making throws down field as well as picking up more first downs with his legs. Hopefully he hasn’t lost that.
