Unbelievable.

  1. ESPN is based close to Boston and the whole network is filled with East coasters who don’t like and certainly don’t watch our 10pm EST games.

Lowe/Bontemps/Bill Simmons/Russillo/Windhorst/KOC and many more are all either from New York/Boston or Cleveland lol.

Same with the sports illustrated NBA guys: either Boston or east coast.

Outside of that a lot of dudes like Logan Murdock are bitter laker fans/Chris Vernon with Memphis, etc. Almost no pro dubs bias in nba media.

People are tired of us lol

  2. The only thing I will say is that I can understand the logic that they expect these players to have a better REGULAR SEASON than Steph.

  3. Interesting that in general Europe and Africa are going to dominate the Murica league now and in the future.

  4. More fuel for Steph. Go ahead keep up the slander. These fuckers won’t sniff the finals.

  5. I’m so fucking triggered right now lol.

    Curry is indeed #5…all time.

EDIT: I remember when the Lakers won the bubble championship and then LeBron was #1 (fair) and AD was #2 (lol) to start the next season. The last guy to be the clear alpha on a title team and not be top 2 was…Curry in 2015. Great call that season by the way ESPN, Curry was nothing special in 2015-2016.

  6. The other guys will put up bigger numbers because they will have to carry their team more than Curry since we got more depth

  7. I don’t see the problem with this. All elite players with unique skills sets where they dominate. How you rank them depends on what you value.

I find it all so dumb though because basketball is a team sport. We won because we were the best team. I wouldn’t trade any star for Steph because Stephs qualities work best for us. Idc if they rank him 55th.

  8. It’s ESPN, they know what they’re doing. It’s fucking criminal tho putting Luka and Embiid over Steph when they haven’t won shit.

  9. LMAO

This is why they’re always surprised when we win. I know this doesn’t matter at all, but it’s reflective of a broader misunderstanding of basketball that runs the discourse. Giannis, okay, I get it even if I disagree. The next 3 are ridiculous, and it’s not even remotely close.

This is why we have to ignore the national media. This is why we don’t take any of their commentary seriously. They don’t understand winning basketball. They dig their heels in when they’re wrong, and they’ve been wrong about Steph (and the Warriors more broadly) for a decade.

  10. They wouldn’t, would they. That would be some dangerous fuel. Try it ESPN. See what happens.

  11. I don’t have the words. They are just never going to pick the ‘little’ guy.

Dude just won the chip, if he wins another one, he probably drops in the ranking next year.

  12. Steph is the last of the old guard on that list. And even then, it’s disrespectful as hell. But that’s what ESPN wants. They want people to talk about how shitty this list is.

  13. This is just a grab for fans to talk about, create clicks and banter.

They can’t ride the warriors nuts for 10 years and not expect people to get turned off. Create debates among fans to keep people engage.

Example is Tom Brady is the goat and it turned people off hearing about him

  14. Please remember this is the same people who predicted warriors only had a 14% chance of winning the finals so… 🤷🏾‍♀️

  15. While I don’t agree with Steph being at 5, it’s crazy how times the top 5 has shifted from having the usual KD, LeBron, Harden, etc. every year.

  16. It’s hard to be mad at the top five when they say these guys all have a really good chance at ending the season having been the best player this year. Who is the best player in a given season isn’t going to always line up with who the Best Player is.

Also, this isn’t MVP voting, it’s “who will be best?” so defense should count at least a little. (I mean, it should count for the MVP, but it rarely does: Nash, a historically bad defensive PG and definitely the worst defensive starting PG of his generation, and Jokic, basically the James Harden of centers, combined for four MVPs.) Jokic and Luka have to be 4 and 5. Curry plays enough D to be better than them even if you think he’s the worst offensive player of the three (which is of course ridiculous). I think the best player next year will be Giannis or Steph and the third best player will be Embiid. At least if I’m picking among this group. I wouldn’t count out Kawahi from being at the top.

  17. Steph will never be the #1 rated player by the majority because he’s not physically imposing. It just doesn’t make sense to the causal fan’s brain. For some reason skill is never rated as highly as natural athletic ability in any sport by average fans.

  18. I mean this is a good news. We have another reason to be petty next season after we win our 5th ring.

  19. Curry has had more impact on the game of basketball than the other 4 combined! And 3 more championships

  20. I wanna know who he behind this shit 😭😭 but anyways Warriors play basketball in 7 days
