Former XFL QB’s Heinicke and Walker Continue to Wow, Walker Named Starter For Immediate Future

There’s a lot of talented guys out there. Remember how Kurt Warner played years in the Arena League and was unwanted by the NFL. His chance as a starter came because of a freak injury in a preseason game and a coach’s gut feeling that he deserved a chance.
I really liked the XFL because I think playing in games against semi-pro level competition is better than a guy sitting in practice squad for a few years. I’m glad the league is coming back, it’s like a minor league for the NFL. Nothing better than these guys getting real game experience.
I also thought the XFL was way closer to NFL style of play than college football is.
I feel like “wow” is a little strong. I think they “whelm”
And Theisman played in the CFL for a couple years
Heinicke has been saying in interviews and podcasts about the talent in leagues like the XFL. If there was a big minor league I’m the spring that would be cool but I think the reason this last iteration was good because of the parity. Don’t feel like a lot of people were talking about USFL this year
