  2. Carlos Hernandez. Looked like he was one the way to being a breakout star and then he slid into second and was done.

  3. Jr in Cincy. His career was incredible even with his injuries. Imagine the numbers he would have put up if he was healthy?

  12. Kyle Lewis. Wonder how his career would have gone if his knee didn’t get destroyed on that freak play in 2016.

  20. From the Redbirds: Allen Craig. Dude was mashing the ball, foot injury of all things is what takes him out.

    Overall: Tim Lincecum, at his peak he was about as unhittable of a pitcher I’ve ever seen. That delivery just wasn’t sustainable long term, something was gonna give eventually.

  25. Prince Fielder. He was so important to making the Brewers relevant again after 15 years of shit and we all wanted him to succeed after he left. His inside the park HR against the Twins is still one of my favorite plays ever.

  26. Francisco Liriano. He was destined to have arm issues with that delivery, but my god he would have beaten out Johan Santana for Cy Young as a rookie in 2006 if he hadn’t blew out his elbow

  27. Growing up in the 90’s, Griffey was the man. Seeing him injured during his Reds days really sucked.

    Kirby Puckett would have reached the 3000 hit milestone if he didnt contract glaucoma. He more hits than Boggs, Gwynn and Ripken during his playing days.

    But the most devastating was David Wright. Jr and Puckett played enough great years to make it into the HoF, Wright didnt. He was so close to having enough and then the back injuries started. Had the injuries started 2 or 3 years later, hed be a lock.

  30. Chien-Ming Wang.

    Guy comes from nowhere to a second place in Cy Young voting at the age of 26 then he injures himself running the bases and is never the same again. The NL’s stubborn refusal to accept the DH ruined his career.

    Still feel sad about it.

  34. Jimmy Nelson. He was putting together a career year in 2017 for the Brewers and was throwing some of the nastiest pitches I’ve seen. Looked like a true ace. Against the Cubs on September 8th, with the Brewers in a heated playoff race, he hit a rope to the left field wall. After turning the corner at first, realizing he wasn’t going to get to 2nd, he jammed his arm sliding back into first base and tore the labrum in his throwing shoulder. Brewers missed the playoffs by 1 game that year. He missed the entire 2018 season and sucked when he came back in 2019. Brewers non tendered him after the 2019 season.

  35. Does anybody remember Dave Dravecky? He was an All-star pitcher in the 80s who had a cancer tumor in his pitching arm. He had the tumor removed along with part of his deltoid muscle. He made a comeback to the majors after rehab, but the bone snapped in the middle of a game while he was pitching. He later had to have his arm amputated.

  40. JR Richard. He was dominating hitters as much as Nolan Ryan and then a blood clot shortened his career at 30.

    From 1976 to 1980, he was one of the premier pitchers in the majors, leading the National League twice in strikeouts, once in earned run average, and three times in hits allowed per nine innings. Also won at least 18 games a year between 1976 and 1979.
