Hey, basketball fans! I play basketball for 28 years already and in 2019 I was very surprised that there was no app like Strava for basketball players. I found many single-purpose apps, but most of them are dead now and HomeCourt switched to the home entertainment market.
So we decided to create it with my good old friend with a focus on social features and gamification. We launched the app on November 2021 ([Level Up Basketball Training](https://levelupbasket.com/)), passed through “death valley”, reached 40k users in the app (40% US, 60% – EU/UK/Canada), and now looking for community feedback about the app we’ve created to make it even better 😊
**My vision:** it’s a one-stop app for any basketball player of any age and skills levels anywhere in the world. Please, help me and share your ideas. What features we should include covering all your needs in basketball? How the super app for basketball should look like?
I plan to cover all needs in basketball training, playing, and social networking with other players, coaches, and fans.
Here are some features we have in our roadmap for the next 12 months:
* **Pickup games/teams finder**Includes the map with all basketball courts with dedicated public chats and events. You can assign yourself to any basketball court (indoor/outdoor), subscribe to events, create events (games), and look up players with relevant skills level on specific courts.
* **Video challenges:** like in TikTok, but for basketball, both creators and participants are rewarded with our coins.
* **AI-powered video highlights:** Ai creates short video highlights, -+3 second clips from the event of basketball approaching the basket.
* **AI-powered virtual coach:** checks the accuracy of your moves, shots, and dribbling. Advising you on drills from our catalog.
* **Tokenization:** web3 tokens, instead of our coins, something like train2earn mode)
* **NBA news & stats:** with forecasting by users and rewards for a successful forecast.

Will it be a subscription based app?
I did a PoC app using React Native and Firebase 4 years ago that allowed users to checkin and start games at any public court in New York City (data: https://data.cityofnewyork.us/Recreation/Directory-of-Basketball-Courts/b937-zdky). Had plans to do ranking/gamification/etc. If you want the source code, I can dig it up for you
