Absolutely embarrassing last night. DA needs to be fired.
That second down call is the most overthinking thing I’ve ever seen.
If there is anyone who knows about making shitty end-of-game decisions, it would be Dungy.
Does he want a yob though?
I’d say it’s like we’re planning to “tank” for a top five pick and get our QB of the future, but sometimes I really do think DA forgets that we traded that pick to Philadelphia.
My goodness.
Tony Dungy and Herm Edwards can stfu
1. Not calling timeouts at the end of the game.
2. Not going for it in fourth down after Ingram went out of bounds
3. Passing on 3rd down.
4. The ridiculous 2nd down pass
5. Not even trying to subtle. Everytime Penning came in the game, it was a run play (minus the awful pass play) and the box was stacked
6. Playing soft prevent defense for the final two drives on defense despite the fact that it was clearly Not. Working.
Ask Dungy if he wanna come outta retirement at this point
This is so friggin stupid it was at the six minute mark in the game.
The ball is set and they wind the clock.
That play that he might have not been able to cut up field on cost at most ten friggin seconds for the ball to be set.
This shit would be comical if not for idiots not understanding what they are complaining about.
Learn the game. Oh and is that a give Elon eight bucks fake account?
Bucs are now your daddy.
The time out management may not have been what really killed us, because we had already screwed ourselves at that point, but that was what really set me off and finally confirmed for me DA can’t hack it as head coach. One of the things I love most about football is the strategy involved in the endings of close games, and there’s not a lot that bothers me more than when a coach screws up what should be base level strategy. Any amount of coaching experience should equate to better decision making in that situation, not to mention having common sense and a feel of how the game is going. Even Sean had his moments that seemed questionable, but there was always at least an argument in favor of his thought process. Anyone watching the game knew our defense, despite how well they’d played earlier on, would likely not be stopping this drive. And even if you were confident they could, not making your decisions with the idea that another drive might be needed to win in mind is a horrible lack of foresight. The wasted twenty or so seconds before calling the first timeout was unforgivable. When I’m hypothetically managing the game better from my couch, we have a major, major problem.
Sorry for the rant, I know I’m not really saying anything anyone doesn’t know but I was just personally offended by the low level game management on full display, and it was embarrassing for our team.
It’s not decision making. It’s worse! It’s blatant mistakes compounded by poor preparation.
I would argue my HS coaches would have made the same dumb calls.
