[Landon Oliver] Raheem Morris is extremely impressive. Makes no excuses and holds himself accountable. I was told this was one of the things that impressed Chris Ballard the most in their interview. Full interview with @thepivot down below. Great stuff.

  1. I think Morris has the inside track. I think Irsay would be most interested in him out of all the candidates, save Saturday, and he seems to definitely be in Ballard’s top few as well.

  2. I like what players say about him. More interested to see who he can bring along for his staff. The offensive pieces we have and are going to get are raw and need the development

  3. I liked how everyone is trying to get him to make excuses and he just says, “I lost 10 games in a row. I should have been fired.” No idea if he is or would be a good HC but I like the honesty.

  4. Morris is my favorite (assuming no Demeco). I’d be happy if he was hired as our HC. I think he’s one of the favorites for the job. He’s supposed to interview today or tomorrow so I wouldn’t be surprised to hear more if he interviews well.

  5. Talk about a 180 from Saturday who even though said what he said at the begging of taking the interim role seems like he wont take accountability for the outcome of his stint.

I think Morris is the guy rn but I hope we set up interviews with Steichen and Callahan

  6. Morris has been a HC, assistant HC, DC, passing game coordinator, WR coach and DB coach. I might be missing some too.

This seems like the kind of well rounded guy you would want as a coach.

  7. The final four coaches are all offensive guys so of course we’re gonna grab a defensive guy

  8. I think Morris will be the guy. He seems to fit what they want in a leader…and he’s obviously a killer in the interview.

I like that he is accountable, but I am getting tired of hearing that word. It’s been the buzz word since Reich was fired.

If they hire Morris, I would expect to see a few fluff pieces, but not looking forward to getting beat over the head with it. I am much more interested in learning about his staff and what they are going to run.

  9. How about for once we take the “this dude isn’t going to fuck up spectacularly” guy instead of the “this dude is willing to be a scapegoat when the organization falls apart” guy. Oh wait, who would take the blame for Ballard being shitty at his job then.

  10. This is why you dont dismiss certain candidates out of hand as “rooney rule” like the first Morris post

Wouldnt be mad, he seems highly respected by the players. Also not going to be too worried by a disappointing stint as a very young HC

  11. I like Morris and I’ll give him a pass for being a young HC that maybe wasnt quite ready but just keep in mind that he did lose 10 games in a row with a better team than the Colts were this past season.
