  1. We always struggle against the Padres. Mainly because we always play them in the beginning of the season when we haven’t quite settled in yet. I know we’ve had an excellent start, but the team will hit it’s groove in May/June.

I would love to face this team then. Both series against them are in April.

  2. If the Braves let me play baseball with them, Ozuna’s batting average is only slightly better than mine would be. WTF.

  3. 6-3 is still a great start, especially compared to what it normally is.

Definitely excited for when Wright and Fried are back though.

  4. We have to pay ozuna either way. Guy should be long fucking gone from this team, put somebody in at league minimum that might hit better than sub .100

  5. I’m honestly not nearly as concerned about the shaky pitching as I am about LOB. We *have* the offense to contend with bad pitching. What we cannot have is bad pitching AND stranding runners. The bats have gone very cold at a very bad time. Almost everyone had bad at bats tonight and against any teams but especially good teams like the padres, its gonna get you losses. I’m not ringing the alarm yet but I am concerned.

  6. How bad does it have to get with Ozuna before they finally give up on him and eat the contract?

  7. I don’t wanna go to sleep mad so I’m gonna just let this one go, but ozuna needs to be on the bench, and Charlie needs to be our fourth option at best moving forward after Fried/Wright/Strider. We can’t seem to catch a break health wise either, I’m pretty sure Travis has a concussion. This sucks but hey we’re still above .500 and we have a chance to split tomorrow. See you all then, good night.

  8. You’re not going to win with 15 Ks. Sloppy Defense really is what killed us. We can’t keep adding starters to the IL after every game. Lol @ Yates. And finally….

    Matt Olson innocent!!!!

  9. Dodd gonna pitch 6 scoreless tomorrow and everything will be okay (hopefully)

  10. At what point does McGuirk and AA and anyone else involved come to the realization that they are paying someone to actively HURT our team, so they may as well pay him to go away?

Yates is still coming back from serious injury at a late age in baseball life. I still think that signing was a mistake, but his struggles I do understand. What’s Ozuna’s excuse?

  11. I was absolutely mystified when Pillar swung at that 1-0 breaking ball. Hader clearly struggling with his command, Pillar a weak hitter, down by 3 in the 9th it’s baseball common knowledge that you take until you get a strike there. Changes the at bat if he takes that pitch. I was a lot less surprised when Ozuna promptly struck out afterwards.

  12. We just got 2 men on with nobody out and then couldn’t even put the ball in play. What a night

  13. I mean I’m thankful for the 6-1 start because sitting at 6-3 is completely reasonable

  14. Jesus people.. .500 or better vs the good teams and beat down the bad ones.. Braves will be fine lol

  15. Wright and Fried will be back soon, Iglesias will come back. Soroka could very well get real healthy and become a key bullpen piece this year. McHugh will be back. We have the money to eat Ozunas contract. Ozzie will snap out of his funk. It’s gonna be fine. This team is deep. We’re playing down a lot of pieces and still considered one of the best in the league, because playing well with injuries is what good teams do

  16. Padres are probably division winning contenders, that is a deep lineup.

    It’s April 8, y’all.

  17. I (honestly) ust don’t understand why Ozuna is still on the team — is it because no one would pick up his contract or what

  18. We should simply remove Marcell Ozuna from the roster and place Adam Duvall back on the roster

  19. Why couldn’t this turd of a game be on ESPN? We’ll probably be hot tomorrow and it’ll be blacked out

  20. Is there a surrender index for baseball? Which would rank higher, pitching Yates or not pinch hitting 0zuna?

  21. Why is Ozuna still in the lineup? Grissom can play the field position, I mean he can’t be worse than Ozuna and I bet he would hit the ball better at this point.

  22. I mean.. ‘least Ozuna got on-base tonight which is more than you can say for guys who have higher expectations.

  23. New game tomorrow with The Doddfather on the mound. Let’s see if he can do what he did to the Cards.

  24. So after the game we are shuffled out of the nearest gate and told we can’t go to the store, so do the Braves not want our money this year?

  25. I want Duvall back and Grissom up, Ozuna needs to go and I’m fine with trading Rosario

  26. Travis d’Arnaud is now expected to go on 7-day concussion IL. Good lord man. Injury bug has hit us HARD.

  27. Travis on 7-day IL, means Murphy will get all of the playing time but now the really interesting decision of DH rears its head. Eli White will most certainly get time to play in left/center now and Tromp will be called up to backup. There is no way in good conscience you play Ozuna at DH 7 days in a row with a .083 batting average unless this is literally the organization saying this is his last shot to prove his worth. That last at bat where he had just one hand on his follow through pissed me all the way off and showed a complete complacency and made me forget about how badly we played today (besides Olson, Riley, and Young)

  28. it’s not that just Ozuna is bad, it’s that he’s only looking to do one thing when he swings the bat, and that’s hit the ball to a different county. The other manager, pitcher, and entire ballpark can see what he’s doing and it’s not to get on base with a productive AB.

  29. TDA about to go on the concussion IL. They’re dropping like flies, holy fuck.

  30. Jeff Francoeur with possibly the most ridiculous comment I’ve ever heard on a Braves broadcast:

“I haven’t checked, but I wonder if this is his (Hader) first time pitching back to back”. Also, Ozuna needs to find a spot in Gwinnett. What a disaster signing that guy has been.
