Just learned that Ice Cube made a new Raider song almost 2 years ago.

I don’t know why it’s always seemed so hard to put together a good song about the Raiders that’s actually got rhythm, flow, has specificity to the team, and that just in general, overall actually sounds good.
Even in this song there’s the awkward pauses and gaps that you hear when somebody is just trying to put something together but can’t think of what words to put (or how to arrange them) to fill it out properly – in-rhythm, in flow, matching or riding right on the beat, that makes sense, all that.
Ice Cube had it lyrically in the 90s to where he didn’t struggle like this. Still though this is at least better than some of the attempts I’ve heard at doing this. Just surprised that they had 3 musical talents (*even if their times were a while ago now*) come together and despite knowing how much this could get banged forever after, this was the absolute *best* they could possibly come up with.
It always feels like the people that’ve made these just either rushed or forced some shit together.
If it was good, you woulda heard about it 2 years ago
