FINALLY. I really hope Kerry does well today so Hinch will stop playing the matchups every single day. I don’t have a problem with it sometimes, but when you have a guy who is hot and you don’t even give him a shot it can fuck with their confidence. I also feel like pros live and die by streaks, not giving them the chance to play every day doesn’t make a whole lot of sense to me. I think Hinch is an overall good manager but he prioritizes the numbers over the actual people a little too often
Every time I want to believe Hinch is doing a decent job, he makes it impossible by doing things like sitting Carpenter in favor of someone who just absolutely sucks, or hitting Maton fifth until literally the day he was sent down with an average of about .155. If you’re gonna be that devoted to lefty/righty matchups, to the point that you’ll bench a productive player like Carp in favor of Tyler Nevin or whoever, then a literal robot could do your job.
Thanks for waiting until the last game of the series to start your best hitter. Sweet.
Wait is that allowed?
I get why we need rehab assignments for pitchers – but how long will Riley be in Toledo? Dude was 5 for 5 last night, I think he’s back!
That bottom of the lineup makes me want to vomit
Betcha it’s because Hogan Harris has reverse splits this year, albeit a small sample size.
WTF. Someone needs to check on AJ. Something is wrong.
BIG mistake
AJ (probably): “I’ll show those nitwits on Twitter.”
