  1. Well Jose Quintana you’re late but you’re gonna get at least 2 starts of meaningful significance

Afterwards though is up to your teammates. Some who could still be gone before the deadline

  2. That kind of game is a little gem, to me, my fellow Mets friends!

Enjoy your evening, celebrate, make love, and fall asleep with dreams of next year.

    ~ ~ ~

    >
    >And after summer evermore succeeds
    >
    >Barren winter, with his wrathful nipping cold:
    >
    >So cares and joys abound, as seasons fleet.

    — Henry VI, Part 2; Act 2, Scene 4

  3. Maybe unpopular opinion, but if the team can get to within a game or two of .500 and 4-5 games back of the wild card then I’d be against selling, maybe make some small moves but otherwise sit tight and see if they can make a run

  4. This team has gone from 36-46 to 45-50. Not saying they are going to the playoffs or even commenting on weather they should sell or not but at least they are playing better ball and guys are showing good signs that they maybe will get out of their slumps, which bodes well when a lot of these players are under team control for next year.

  5. Good job… anyways I posted about Fujinami being traded (got taken down🥺but that’s ok) and the lack of baseball knowledge in this sub is crazy sometimes, like maybe I just caught it at the wrong time…. But you’re telling me you wouldn’t have traded for a guy with potential to be an elite reliver or a mid rotation starter if he can control the ball, for basically TOMMY FUCKING HUNTER… this is why none of y’all (including me) are in a GM seat rn

  6. Glad Baty has been getting hot again. Pretty annoying hearing Mets fans call him a bust already. Also glad the Mets are clearly committed to him being the starting 3B and letting him play through the rookie struggles

  7. Tomorrow gonna be a rough one. We all know Quintana is gonna give up at least 5 runs so our bats gonna have to be ready

  8. Verlander was great, bullpen got the night off, and we scored runs. Giving us just enough rope to keep the playoff delusions alive baby

  9. I’m thinking we need to move Pete to 6 and maybe put Alvarez in 4 until Alonso can get it turned back on. Jeff is struggling, and so is Pete and we need to be ok with moving our cleanup guy around like Marte or Vogelbach until he can turn it on.

  10. the one time Baty hits back to back homers is when i’m working. at least i saw the first one in person tho, that was sweet!

  11. I have full faith the team can get to above .500. The only real issue is if the Phillies, DBacks, or Giants will have a rough stretch the rest of the season allowing the Mets to get the WC.

  12. Buck really pisses me off saying that other teams deserve things just as much we we do. He just never says the right things, win or lose

  13. Would love to see Baty get to 15-20 HRs…hopefully he’s turning the corner here.

  14. Anyone else ready to be hurt again? LFGM! Bring the 🧹out to Citi tomorrow!

  15. sorry but alonso either needs time off or needs to be switched with Alvarez in the line up. he has been horrific at the plate since the injury.

  16. I hate myself and I’m still a couple games away from buying back in…but other than the Phillies, not a single one of these teams scare me. We still have 7 with the Phillies and 6 with the marlins. I don’t think shit is happening for now but if we can get the GB number down to 5 or so, we’re back on

  17. Mets win. Braves lose. Phillies lose. Marlins lose. Yankees losing. Not a bad Wednesday night friends!

  18. Alright guys… there’s some hope and I still want us to get into the playoffs because we all know MLB is a crapshoot.

By July 31st, how many games back do you feel it is acceptable for us to be “buyers”?

  19. 67 games left, playing .600 ball gets the Mets to 85 wins… is that enough for a wild card spot?

  20. Anyone else seeing Oppenheimer tomorrow night since we have a day game tomorrow? I’m so excited!

  21. There’s some pure Baseball glory in watching Alvarez launch an absolute bomb into the upper decks with a compact and ultra powerful pulling swing, followed immediately by Baty knocking one to dead center with his long elegant and full swing.

    These kids are really something.

Francisco Alvarez is already one of my favorite ball players of all time…

  22. Alonso is dangerously close to having a sub .300 OPB and .200 average. Just fucking garbage

  23. Just throwing this out there but… Nimmo, Lindor, Baty, Alvarez, Alonso, Pham seems like a pretty interesting 1-6 to me

  24. I’m not saying Verlander is worth his contract but Rodon is 0-3 with a 7.36 era lol

  25. We need the polar bear to come out of hibernation if we want any chance of going on a run here

  26. Time to give Pete a day off. He can’t hit the broad side of a barn from the inside.

  27. Where’s the guy who asked for an easy 5-1 win in the pregame thread today? He is my new savior.

  28. Funny story from tonight: Ironically when I went to Cleveland with a buddy a month ago we went to Progressive for two games on two nights and was able to snag a t-shirt from the t-shirt-toss thing that the girl threw directly at me the first night in a packed bleacher section even though I was wearing a Mets (admittedly Lindor) jersey. Fast forward to tonight, I ended up going all out for a loose shirt that was shot out of the hand cannon thing that happened to fall a few seats away after hitting the 2nd deck screen thingy. Skinned my knee in the process, bloody as hell and all, but still got the shirt. It’s super cool but my knee begs to differ. NY is a different animal I guess..
