  1. Oh my god please let this be a made up injury for the purpose of avoiding the risks of FIBA 😭

  2. Seriously this move made no sense but toxic positivity brigade couldn’t see banking on a frail 7’4 guy with crazy injury history was bs

  3. Would be great if he missed the World Cup. I wouldn’t be surprised if Celtics were pressuring him to skip it after the huge swing they just took to bring him in. The injury is probably real but the severity might be overstated.

  4. Can the Celtics just not play KP and RW3 until April then work them both up to 30+mpg for the playoffs?

This team is already giving me agita

  5. They’ve already had two exhibitions, correct? Has he played in those, does anyone know?

  6. Not going to lie, I’ll be upset if he plays. Skip it, get healthy and focus on a championship. What are we even doing here?

  7. fuck my life. why cant i have anything nice. fuk fuck fuck fuckity fuckkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkk.

  8. I’m hoping Gallinari has just scarred us and Kristaps was like “My foot is a little sore.”

Then Celtics came in to just shut him down

  9. While this doesn’t seem serious it was my biggest concern with this trade. Porzingis and Brogdon are 2 of the most injury prone players in the league and Horford is almost 40

  10. Is this reporter even reputable? I have never heard of this guy, and even if KP is dealing with an issue he should be good for the regular season. Him missing the world cup would honestly make me happier with not having to deal with the thought of serious injury.

  11. It looks like he’s just angling to sit out the world cub

The Celtics did him the favor of the new contract extension, its time Kristaps rubs our back and sit out this tournament.

  12. I would not read into this too much. 2 August, it was his birthday, he was getting ready to play vs Sweden and only 3 hours before game, he opt out. From what his close friend said, he was not happy about this decision. That tells me, he was ready to play and whatever injury it is, its very minimal.

  13. He’s got every right to play in the WC. This is probably a very big deal to him and his country and this is just his first year in Boston.

That said I don’t think he’s gonna play hurt.

  14. What?!?!

    Injured already???

I get the “pride in country” and playing to represent… But…

    SMH

  15. Honestly an injury that’s just barely bad enough for him to miss the WC is probably a better outcome than him playing the actual tournament

  16. When we traded IT we got cursed. Kyrie and Hayward both got injured. I thought this organization and the fanbase would learn its lesson, but I guess not. Don’t trade your most loyal player.

  17. Choosing to be optimistic and see this as the Celtics begging ‘Staps not to play so he is citing an injury to bag out while saving face

  18. Look at the other players who have decided not to play due to various minor things. It’s obviously nothing I could prove but I think many of those players were put on the teams just for PR reasons and they never intended to play. The player gets recognition as being one of the top players in his country and someone fitting to represent the country and the team gets added publicity. Then the player withdraws due to medical reasons giving the team a get out of jail free card should they underperform. They could say “our guys put up a great fight and we were SO close but once player X suffered the hangnail on his pinky and couldn’t play we knew we were fighting an uphill battle”

  19. Lololol. Smart gonna have a career year in Memphis and KP gonna be in street clothes.

  20. I told you so. Stop trading for injury prone players who wont be available when it matters. Brogdon got hurt and hurt our play in the playoffs. KP is inevitably going to get hurt and miss playoff games. This dude body cant and wont hold up.
