On August 11, 2008, the Los Angeles Kings signed defenseman Drew Doughty to a three-year, entry-level contract. In his rookie season, Doughty led the Kings in average ice time (23:50), scored six goals and 27 points in 81 games, and was named to the NHL’s All-Rookie Team.
