Kris Bryant, Charlie Blackmon lead players-only meeting to refocus Rockies, embrace positives

  1. “Kris Bryant peered across the Rockies clubhouse at his teammates and knew the conversations needed to change.
On the heels of six consecutive late losses, he saw heads hanging low with disappointment. The final results were overshadowing some of the positives he saw from the dugout. He wanted them to see the daylight, not be clouded by a few late miscues.
So he and Charlie Blackmon led a players-only meeting after Saturday’s 5-4 loss to Baltimore. The next day, the team flipped the script and completed its own comeback effort to avoid a sweep.”

  2. And between then and this article coming out, they’ve already started another losing streak.

Honestly it’s just really bad timing that they had to face the 3 of the top 4 teams in baseball back to back to back . This meeting might’ve been more effective before losing a home series to the As.

  3. I feel bad for the players. You know it’s been the dream of every one of those guys for their entire lives to get to this point and then they get to the Rockies with our inept front office and have to deal with this. Monfort should sell but he never will.

  4. Kris Bryant pep talks while he is injured for his entire contract just makes me laugh.

  5. Kris Bryant trying to be a team leader? He’s one of the problems! He’s not on the field, he didn’t come up through the Rockies system.

He’s right that the Rockies need to change their attitude, but they need to change their talent level too.

  6. Embrace positives?

Because it was over so fast I can only conclude this was an incredibly short and completely unnecessary meeting. One that could have been handled via email.
