The #Chiefs plan to put star TE Travis Kelce through a workout this morning to test his injured knee, per source. Just two days after hyperextending the knee and suffering a bone bruise in practice, Kelce is a true game-day decision for tonight’s opener vs. the #Lions.

  1. Fingers crossed he’s good to play – that would mean it’s truly just a pain tolerance ordeal which is sad in its own way but the absolute best case scenario given the initial news

  2. Rather be cautious and sit him. We can win one game without him. Mahomes is going to make a statement tonight continuing to prove he can win with/without anyone, under any circumstance.

  3. You know Kelces gonna be fighting to be out there, he’ll never admit he’s not good to go. Hopefully the training staff uses their best judgement 🙏

  4. While obviously hope he plays…

I also look at a silver-lining if he doesn’t… our offense would have to play with a totally different look, which will delay that much longer defenses being able to adapt.

Of course, that wouldn’t be worth it if we end up losing the game and part of the reason being the offense could never get in rhythm and/or stalling out in the red zone.

  5. I mean even if hes limited and can’t catch or make many plays I have to imagine they’d want him out there even just to run routes, draw coverage, and put the fear of God in the secondary

  6. I vote rest him. It might be a rough game, but we will need him later in the season, he’s going to be 34 this year. That’s old in football years.

  7. Resting Kelce might be a even bigger headache for the Lions imo. Their ‘Stop the Kelce’ game plan wont be helpful and I doubt if they are that prepared against WR heavy game plan

  8. If it’s a solely pain management thing, let him get a few game reps in. Make a few catches and keep the defense honest but limit his snaps significantly. A little Kelce can go a long way even as a decoy

  9. If our training and medical staff don’t think he’s good to go, then he’s obviously sitting. If he’s good enough to go then let him play. They know more about the medical field than I.
