They’d have to sign a couple starters in FA who have career years. The “core” of the team needs to be healthy all year and we need a couple of prospects to develop into quality starters next year.
Basically they need to stars to align and everyone plays to their potential. More likely then not it will be another terrible year.
Grifol is locked in, they’ve already made every other team in the division better. Not sure there’s a path forward here.
What I hate is how much I’ve seen about emphasizing getting back to winning “quickly.”
At this point I will gladly wait. Just get it done the right way. Stop rushing it.
How?
A. New ownership dedicated to the modern game and player development, from rookie ball all the way up to the show.
B. Front office personnel in the spirit of A.
C. Be serious players in the free agent market every year.
D. Hire real managers, not bush-league dipshits or former White Sox.
Oh…you said quickly.
BRUH!!! we are screwed until Jerry sells or dies
I really dislike this CHGO podcast crew lol
Kind of ironic that Jerry was so quick to say no on Ohtani considering that he could very well be looking for a one year deal.
