What a day to make all the Cal Quantrill nonbelievers eat their own words (I won’t deny it, it’s me, I don’t believe). His final pitching line is 6IP, 3H, 0R, 2BB, and 6K on 82 pitches for an incredible performance. DLS gets a 3 pitch out to put out a fire, Stephan looks incredible with 2Ks, and Kwan and 🐐both have 3 hit days, Kwan with a walk and José a double.
Zack Plesac may not be one of the kids, but he had a spectacular line in CBus today of 8IP, 1H, 1R, 0BB and 6K on 82 pitches and the sole damage off a solo home run. Herrin came in with a 2K save. A very limited offensive output, with Manzardo getting a double and Raynel Delgado getting a solo home run. Columbus is unfortunately 8 back in the postseason picture, but do have some room to try and make something miraculous happen.
A lack of extra base hits may have come back to bite Akron, but they still got 5 runs off of 8 hits, a walk, and a stolen base (Connor Kokx) with the sole XBH via a Joe Donovan double as he goes 2/4 with an RBI. An unfortunate growing pains night for Doug Nikhazy, with a line of 4IP, 4H, 5R, 3BB, and 7K on 85 pitches (3 home runs allowed). Akron is 2 games away from being eliminated from the postseason.
Lake County is led by the pitching duo of Aaron Davenport (6IP, 4H, 0R, 2BB, 6K) and Jake Miller (3IP, 2H, 0R, 1BB, 1K) on the mound as they shut down Lansing to stay in the postseason race. DeLauter gets a 2 run home run during his 2/4 day, and Jake Fox and Cooper Ingle both get doubles. Everyone get to LC and go nuts in the stands for the boys, as they are now 2 games back with 3 to go.
By the guy that has been put on waivers *twice* in the past week and a half. Not great, Bob!

Trade Clase for some power. Never understand why teams pay up for high end relievers but they do. Do fucking anything to fix this anemic offense
Well that sucked
10th blown save for Clase this year
That game was not fun. Kwan had some huge base-running mishaps that cost us big time and our offense left so many runners on. Offense completely fucked us over on a bullpen game
I’m also not going to hear out any reactionary Clase takes. I get 10 blown saves is bad, but 38 saves is also very good.
Edit: thought I should add something that just came to my head
People wanted Stephan gone after his recent blowup a couple days ago. Well he comes in today and has one of the best pitching innings this year for us. These guys are humans, they’re gonna mess up from time to time
Sub 500 teams do sub 500 things
Alexa, play I Always Wanna Die (Sometimes) by the 1975
Man, so now we need 2 power hitting OFs and a new closer?!
We have three of the top 10 blown saves leaders 🤡
Clase just blew his 10th save to fucking Chad Wallach, Brett Phillips, Kyren Paris and Randall Gritchuk.
I don’t even get sad anymore but come on…
Good season all – it was fun for a while! (shaking hands all around)
Well that was disappointing. Kinda sarcastic but kinda serious, if Clase gets 4 more blown saves on the year (based on my research) he will tie an MLB record for most blown saves in a season so that’s a kinda cool right?
Cool cool cool
Well, as much as it pains me to say, I think I’m ready for some Browns football to start
Well, I’m gonna suffer by watching football from now on. Great season everyone, see you guys in March.
D F Clase
Can’t wait to do nothing in winter and pretend it’ll be ok next year!!!
