That game felt like the losses against the nuggets. Everyone was panicking while reaves kept on making the game seem alive for his team.
JJJ is a fake DPOY. All the blocks/shot alterations in the world don’t matter if you can’t secure defensive rebounds.

Reeves has to work on his low post defense if he does gets selected for 2024 olympics. Proud of his effort. He and Edwards I think were the 2 players USA that played the whole 4th quarter.

I am ready for Reaves to cook the NBA, all this talk about his defense when we’ve already seen him play in the NBA and be fine, but now it looks like his offensive game has gotten to another level.

Reaves played well and made timely plays. There was so much iso ball from Brunson and Ant that it was hard to anyone else to get going. Hali made a nice drive and dish to Ant for a slashing dunk. Reaves just took what was left.
Offensively he was great, but Germany was hunting him on defense. And the same thing happened the game prior

I didn’t watch the game, but Twitter and Reddit have mentioned that Reaves was getting cooked on D late in the game. How true is that? No bias.
When will Reaves get some help. He can’t win with scrubs
Reaves didn’t have a touch of the ball from middle of 3rd till end of the 4th. I really thought that was a key factor to their loss.
He got roasted on defense and was a massive liability on that end. We have to tell the whole story.

I watched the game, Germany were just much more composed all game and were in attack mode and were fearless, US played without much sense of urgency, just the last few minutes when they made a little push but Germany definitly were determined to win from the tip-off, as for AR he made some nice and timely shots, he shot with confidence.. he has more room to grow he is shaping nicely into becoming a pretty impactful player for the Lakers..:)

Reaves was the best, most consistent player all tournament for the US.

They lost the game at defense. Couldnt get a stop when they needed to for the whole game.
They should have featured Austin more. Cant understand why is he on the bench and why he did not get more touches. Most effecient player aswel. The real problem of this team was they did not have a rim protector. and yes JJJ is not a real rim protector without a real center behind him so he can play weak side defense.
Get Austin Reaves some help. He can’t win with these cats.
They just couldn’t stop Germany from scoring.

At this point I think Team USA needs to be set the year prior and practice defensive schemes together the whole year. Offense has gotten too good for us to just dump our stars out there and hope they outscore the opponent-space and pace makes roleplayers deadly weapons and gives stars too much room to maneuver.
It has been obvious all tournament long that against good PnR and play calling our guys get beat because they arent in synch on defense.
Iso ball superstar play from the 00s favored the USA being slapped together. Nowadays it needs to be a team on both ends.
Austin’s confidence is something else. It looked like he was the only composed besides Edwards
