  1. I’m glad they’re both getting a look there right away. This way the new staff will get a chance to see what they’re working with from the start of camp, rather than making a hasty trade for the sake of positional need.

    If it doesn’t work, it doesn’t work, but I’m thankful they’re trying.

  2. Laffy really needs to step up big this season. While I’m not expecting a 100 point season, I would like to see Chytil like contribution at the least. He’d better have worked his ass off this off-season.

  3. just for reference, Laf played 155 min TOI at RW on a line with Panarin/Trocheck at the beginning of last season. [this was the result](https://pbs.twimg.com/media/FoNsiv0XEAIsQcn?format=png&name=small). it was ridiculously good offensively. in fact, it was [NYR’s 2nd best line in terms of xGF/60](https://moneypuck.com/lines.htm), min 150 TOI, 2nd only to 20/93/24, which should be NYR’s 1st line this year. Shot attempts 190-135, shots 95-80, scoring chances 99-81. the only hindrance was that trocheck hit nothing but posts for the first 2 months of the season, and NYR goalies put up an 87.5% save% with that trio on the ice. A ridiculously low 0.949 PDO expects a natural ascent of bad luck back up to the mean

Notice how many are on the right side of the ice (it’s about half), and then think about how little he actually played there compared to LW. Laf should be starting the season on RW, let alone getting “some time” there during camp. Almost feels like they don’t even know what the results were from last year when he *did* play RW…

  4. Any guys out there who’d be interesting to bring in on a PTO? Brassard is one but that could be more nostalgic, although it worked for vesey

  5. NJ Devils GM Tom Fitzgerald went on the Spittin Chiclets podcast a few weeks ago. Across the River, the Rangers still conduct press conferences in secret. This organization is stuck in the 90s and it’s infuriating…
