PFF Team Grades Through 3 Weeks. The Vikings have a top-5 offense (including an arguably top-5 O-Line) which is being held back by an inability to run or stop the run. They’re last in pass rush grade.

  1. To spell out the obvious, this team should not be 0-3 and they are playing on a different level than the other 0-3 teams.

  2. This is the Modern NFL where running the ball no longer matters, or so I have been told by members on this sub. So why should this info matter?

  3. I feel it’s VERY important to point out that the Vikings offensive line also finished 4th in run blocking last year, but couldn’t run the ball (27th in rush yards). There seems to be a disconnect (at least for the Vikes) between the RBLCK ratings actually translating to rush yards.

The pass blocking has legitimately improved over the 1st 3 games which has Kirk putting up MVP numbers.

  4. Last in pressures but still solid in coverage. Issue isn’t our corners (although Murphy was burnt toast against Allen). Badly need to capitalize on some of these blitzes. If we even had 3 guys who could beat an occasional 1-1 we’d be sitting good.

  5. It is almost strictly on the fumbles/turnovers. We got away with a weak line last year and if we could hold onto the ball we’d have gotten away with it these last three games. I think the first game maybe even the second game were mental lapses and this last game they were hunting for the ball (so probably still a mental issue).
